In 1896, Japanese merchant Tanaka Chobei came to Jinguashi mine and established the Shinto Shrine which enshrined Okuninushi-no- Mikoto, Kanayamahiko-no-Mikoto, and Sarutahiko-no-Mikoto. In every year, from June to July, the Mountain Deity Ritual is being held to pray for a safe and fruitful gold mining season. The Shinto Shrine and Mountain deity ritual Exhibition, You will be told all about the past of this Shinto Shrine, listed as a New Taipei City Historic Site in 2007, and its inseparable connetion to Jinguashi mine.
